I’ve been hearing a lot of grumbling lately from folks who say the average person can not make money on the Internet any longer. I only have one thing to say to these people. What a load of bull! I know people who are getting into Internet Marketing or promoting their own goods who are dong very well. And yes, I still see those who make a lot of money on the Internet. But, I guess it’s just the difference in how these negative people define a ‘lot of money’ and how I do. I know plenty of people who are pulling down more than 10k per month of off a few dinky websites. I don’t know about you, but in my book, that’s a lot of money!
The nice thing is, it’s a business a lot of folks can do if they’d only put the time and right amount of effort into it. What do I mean by ‘right amount of effort?’ Well, and I was guilty of this too, many people get into this business and think they’re going to kill it right off the bat. And after a few months when it doesn’t happen, they give up on what they were working on and start chasing the next pot of Gold. Then, after a few more months of not making any money, they give up on that and chase something else or give up altogether. This is typical for 95% of the people who get into Internet Marketing in my opinion.
Building an online business is pretty much the same as building an offline business. You have to put the time, effort and money into it to make it pay off. My first website took over 18 months to make a $100. My second and third websites took nearly 2 years before they were making more than $100 per month. Then, each month after they continued to make more as long as I worked on them. Then, at some point I realized I was making enough money month after month to kiss my day job goodbye, and my boss!
I haven’t looked back either. It still takes time and effort. Even today, when I start a website, I expect it to take between 1 and 2 years before it makes money. So don’t get in any hurry. I see way to many people give up when their websites were on the verge of making money. Sure, there are a lot of scams out there and programs promising you thousands of dollars overnight. But as the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There are also a lot of good systems out there that teach beginners how to do it right. One of these is the Keyword Academy.
So what are you waiting for? Or do you have something else more important than your future to work on?
